I took early retirement in 1994 to come to live in France where I have been a cantonier, a builder, the director of music for the "Harmonie de Tulle" and also the Orchestra of the School of Music in Tulle and only started painting four years ago at the School of Art, Colour and Movement in Objat.

I currently paint mostly in acrylics and oils.   When I started I just wanted to paint in photo realism but since studying with Reg Alcorn and his brother Robert at Objat I have come to understand that all techniques and methods are good.   As artists we are in an interpretive field, expressing our own ideas and we are certainly never in competition with each other.
